In American History

Let's celebrate historical African American figures who impacted art and music in our history!

Walk with Singer/Songwriter Anitra Jay through an entertaining showcase of black voices in American History. Anitra takes you back in time celebrating diversity in our nation's rich history with art forms such as the breath-taking poetry of Maya Angelou and Langston Hughes to the stories of Harriet Tubman as well as modern historical voices like Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald. Students will experience a memorable show that both informs and inspires while celebrating the beauty of diversity.

The presentation is a dynamic blend of live musical performances and storytelling. It highlights key historical figures such as Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr., and Maya Angelou, along with lesser-known but equally important contributors. The program is structured into thematic segments, each focusing on different aspects of Black history, from the struggle for freedom to the celebration of cultural achievements.

Here's Our 2026 Tour Recap

We’re home! After three full weeks on the road, our family tour has finally wrapped. It’s hard to describe the whirlwind that just unfolded—but as we sit here back home, tissues in hand and cough drops within reach, it’s hitting me just how big this adventure was.

We’re currently in recovery mode. The girls took turns with fevers, low energy days, and a lingering cough that just won’t quit. Rob and I caught our own version of the flu, and there was even an urgent care visit in the mix. Touring with kids is no small feat—but even in the hard moments, it’s something I wouldn’t trade.

We closed the tour with a celebratory stop at Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant, OK. Read more.
