Hitting the Road Again: A Tour of Black Voices Returns for Year Three

January 09, 20263 min read

show schedule

There’s something incredibly special about packing up and heading out on the road — and this year, the excitement feels even deeper. As we step into our third year of A Tour of Black Voices, I’m filled with gratitude, anticipation, and a genuine sense of joy.

Each year this tour returns, it grows. The conversations grow richer. The connections grow stronger. And the impact continues to ripple far beyond the stage.

What began as a passion project rooted in storytelling, music, and history has evolved into a living dialogue — one that honors Black voices of the past while making space for the voices of today.

Why This Tour Keeps Getting Better

What I love most about A Tour of Black Voices isn’t just the performance itself — it’s what happens after.

After the music fades and the final words are spoken, people stay. They come up to share their own perspectives, personal stories, and memories passed down through generations. We talk about moments in history from different vantage points. We compare notes. We reflect on how these stories shaped us individually — and how they continue to shape our communities collectively.

Those moments remind me that history isn’t static. It’s lived. It’s remembered differently depending on where you stand — and opening space for that dialogue is where real learning and connection happen.

Every campus brings its own energy, its own voices, and its own layer of meaning to the experience. That’s why no two shows are ever the same — and why this tour continues to feel alive and relevant year after year.

Honored to Be Invited Into These Spaces

I want to take a moment to extend heartfelt thanks to the colleges and universities that have invited A Tour of Black Voices to their campuses so far this season. It’s an honor to be welcomed into these learning environments and to share space with students, faculty, and community members who are open, curious, and engaged.

Still Booking for 2026

The calendar is still open, and we are currently accepting additional bookings for colleges, universities, and organizations looking to bring a meaningful Black History program to their campus.

A Tour of Black Voices blends music, storytelling, and historical reflection in a way that invites participation, encourages dialogue, and meets audiences where they are — academically, culturally, and emotionally.

As I prepare to hit the road once again, I’m reminded why this work matters — and why these stories deserve to be heard, shared, and discussed together.

I can’t wait to see what conversations unfold next.
